Healthy Habits To Inculcate During Your Workday
We’re the generation of never-ending hustle. That much is certain. The rat race has multiplied so exponentially in the past few years, that work breaks for refreshment are slowly reaching the fate of the dinosaur – borderline extinction. Long hours, peak traffic, overtime … these are just a few niggles that the corporate employee has to face on a day-to-day basis.
So how does one keep fresh, healthy and motivated while at work given the obvious time constraints? Well, for starters, a great habit to inculcate, is to walk about and get away from the cubicle as much as possible when schedules afford it.
Another effective way, is watching your food intake and making sure that you don’t stress eat or overload on the snacks in an absent-minded spell of hard work. Caffeine works wonders in bursts but when the crash comes about, it completely disrupts the harmony within the mind. So dosing up on it, isn’t exactly the most sensible solution to boost energy levels on a working day, even though it’s an effective short term fix.
Instead, try drinking refreshing water-based teas such as green tea, black tea, ginger-lemon tea, etc. These teas are loaded with tannin and leave you feeling light and rejuvenated to go and conquer your tasks. They’re also significantly lower in terms of caffeine intake, so you don’t have to do that espresso shot x 8, to get by the day.
